Comic-Con International 2017

Jeff Byrd, Alanna Wolff, and Mavis brought some attention to the booth on Saturday. (Thanks to the cosplay skills of Randall Kirby, Elizabeth Blust, and Crystal Benitez!)

Comic-Con International: San Diego: July 20-23: This year’s Comic-Con has now come and gone. Exhibit A Press was in its usual spot, booth 1909 in the Independent Publishers’ Pavilion, across from DC Comics. We were happy to host Eisner Award nominee Steve Conley on Friday for special signing. Alanna Wolff, Jeff Byrd, and Mavis all put in an appearance on Saturday. Plus: Batton interviewed his old School of Visual Arts pal John Holmstrom in John’s Spotlight panel on Saturday.

Here are a few photos of people who stopped by the booth.

Gilbert Hernandez, inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Eisner Awards, came by with his wife Carol and daughter Natalia.

Batton caught up with his old pal from the School of Visual Arts, PUNK Magazine founder/cartoonist John Holmstrom.

Jackie and Batton’s “son” Jim Pascoe brought his kids Poppy and Blaise to say hello.

Another shot of Wolff, Byrd, and Mavis with Batton.

Lots of people stopped by to chat with Jackie about her two “Comic Book People” volumes. One was Fantagraphics publisher Gary Groth, who can be seen in a photo from 30 years ago (middle of right-hand page) taken at Comic-Con.

Team Exhibit A: Batton with his siblings, Irene and Billy. They came from New York for their very first Comic-Con!

The area around the Exhibit A booth was chaos on Saturday at 1:00, as the cast for Justice League arrived at the DC booth. Everyone wanted to get shots of Gal Godot and (in this case) Jason Momoa.

Here’s Momoa coming down the stairs to sign at the DC booth.
