There was a great turnout for Jackie Estrada’s Comic Book People 2 (her follow-up to last year’s Comic Book People) at Comickaze, Robert Scott’s new store at Liberty Station, Point Loma, San Diego. Lovely Wife Jackie gave a talk about how her two books of photographs came about, attending every San Diego Comic-Con, and anecdotes about some of the greats she got to know. Jackie and Robert used the occasion to invite some of the San Diego-based comic book people featured in the book to set up and promote their work, as well as being on hand to sign their photos in Jackie’s books! There was food, refreshments and plenty of great comics surrounding the festivities. Here are some photos I took during the event. A big thank you to Robert Scott and his staff– they were just terrific. A very helpful and considerate crew for a memorable and fun evening! For more info on Comic Book People, volumes 1 and 2, go to our “books” category on this here website.
